It's been a rough couple of months since the first race of the season. I flew a bit too close to the sun trying to prepare for the season and experienced over-training syndrome. Messed up blood work, lack of energy, and SLOW workouts have been the norm for quite a while. Now I'm getting back on my feet and

The first race of the season was a good fitness test and I am on track for a good year! I definitely don't have the speed that I need right now, but the fitness is there! I'll be visiting the track on a regular basis over the next few weeks. We'll see how far I've come from swimmer to runner.... To be continued.

Base training is winding down and I"m gearing up for the 2010 racing season. This winter has been the best off-season so far and I'm looking forward to a few tests coming up in the next few weeks in the form of swim meets, time trials, and local races. It should be fun!

I'm heading into the off season with a fire lit in me to build a huge base and have a great 2010 season. My goals for the winter are to average 20k in the water, 300miles on the bike, and 80 miles on the road... To be continued! 10/14/09
My cycling has been killing me lately and now I'm doing something about it! I'm trying to put in over 1000 miles in the lead up to 70.3 worlds... Sadly most of it will be indoors!

With winter behind me, I'm gearing up for another season. I've logged over 1000 miles of running this winter and still feel that I have a ways to go! I'm hoping to be ready for St. Anthony's at the end of the month. Recent workouts included: Running 4 mile tempo 6:07,5:57,5:46,5:36. Swimming 10x100 on 1:10 holding 1:05 ez.

After a rough season, I'm taking a bit of time off before hitting the road. I'm taking last year's off season to new levels by running exclusively (except for an occasional hop on the bike or in the pool to keep from going crazy!) through the beginning of the new year. Hopefully I hit next season a more well-rounded triathlete.

After a long summer swim season, I'm back at it and gearing up for the second half of my racing season. I started off pretty shaky in Canada, but I'm putting in the time and hopefully it won't be too long until I'm back in top form. I'm looking into a coach to oversee my training so I can try to avoid letting work keep me from training. Stay tuned...

I'm still working on developing my speed and trying to recover from all of my early season racing. I recently was fitted on my bike for the first time by Bob down at Wheelie Fun just south of Dayton. I feel like I can ride faster, longer, and easier! Hopefully it shows in the next race. If you're in the Dayton area, stop by and check out Wheelie Fun!

I am into the speed work section of my training and it is painful! I have been able to hold miles under 5:30 with only a 400 jog in between each one. Hopefully all of the work will pay off! I need to get running to compete with the best. My swim and bike are staying steady and hopefully improving as I start the season off strong!

I'm still working away through the cold ohio winter. I raced a local splash and dash a few weeks ago and felt a bit rusty. The second race in the series is coming up in a week or so. We'll see if there is any improvement! I'm now running in Newton shoes and I feel like they have helped me to find my stride and hopefully develop into a more competitive runner. Until next time...
11/20/07 I have been training consistently and have almost matched my training totals from the entire last winter! I ran 60 miles last week for the first time and I'm looking to build on that over the coming holidays. I am as motivated as ever after being nominated for USAT rookie of the year. More to come...
